New Hyundai Elite i20

Hyundai Elite i20 was launched at Rs 4.89 lakh for the base Era petrol variant, while the top-of-the-line variant costs 7.67 lakh. Available in two engine options - a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.4-litre diesel, the new-generation model of the premium hatchback is being offered in five variants, namely, Era, Magna, Sportz, Sportz (O) and Asta. The new Hyundai i20, or new Elite i20, features Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. It is still instantly recognizable as a Hyundai, but the swooping and flowing lines have been toned down a bit to give it a more angular character. The cabin has been refurbished too. First things first, with an extended wheelbase, the Elite i20 is more spacious than before. It also gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel instead of the 4-spoke steering found in the old model. Other features include a dual-tone dashboard, double-DIN audio player, climate control, rear AC vents, touch-screen music system, push start-stop button, four airbags, ABS with EBD and a few more.

New Honda Jazz

When launched, the most mind-boggling aspect about the Jazz was its price; most prospective buyers were put off by the high sticker price. Now however, Honda has slashed prices by over a lakh of rupees, which makes the Jazz a tempting prospect indeed. A refined and punchy engine, acres of cabin room and a flexible interior, plus ABS and airbags on every variant, make the Jazz a truly tempting proposition. The price cut has ruined residuals on second-hand Jazzes however. The third-gen Jazz was launched in July 2015, in both diesel and petrol fuel options, price of the petrol trim starts from Rs 546,900, while price of the diesel variant starts from Rs 667,900. The diesel variant comes loaded with 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine exclusively for the Indian market which delivers a maximum power of 100 PS at 3600 rpm and maximum torque of 200 Nm at 1750 rpm. It has been mated to a newly developed 6-speed manual transmission that is light, compact, and attains top class transmission efficiency to deliver a pleasant and fun to drive experience along with an excellent fuel economy. The petrol variant of the Jazz is powered with a 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that delivers a maximum power of 90 PS at 6000 rpm and a torque of 110 Nm at 4800 rpm. The petrol variant also comes with 5 speed manual transmission.

Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Maruti Suzuki’ s premium hatchback Baleno was priced from Rs 5.23 lakh for the base petrol and Rs 6.44 lakh for the base diesel. Maruti Suzuki Baleno comes with two engine options – the 1.3-litre DDiS 190 diesel and 1.2-litre VVT petrol that delivers 21.39 kmpl. The Maruti Baleno has been built on a brand new platform which is lighter, stronger and more rigid. The Baleno will be sold exclusively through the Nexa dealership network. India will serve as a manufacturing hub for the Baleno which will be exported to over 100 countries across the globe including Suzuki’s home country, Japan.
