The 11th generation, 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis made its Indian debut at the recently held Delhi Auto Expo. Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced the bookings for the car are now open. However, the price announcement will take place closer to the sales launch in May 2014.


The Corolla Altis for India is available with a petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol motor is the same 1.8-litre four-cylinder with Dual VVT-i pumping 140 PS of maximum power at 6,400 rpm. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or a Super CVT 7-speed automatic gearbox.


The diesel Corolla continues to use the 1.4-litre four-cylinder D-4D engine putting out 89 PS of maximum power at 3,800 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.


The new Altis measures 4,620 mm in length, 1,776 mm in width and 1,475 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The wheelbase has increased by 100 mm compared to the previous generation model resulting in increased legroom. Toyota will also offer reclining rear seats on the car to further enhance comfort for rear seat passengers.


Top-end variants of the 2014 Toyota Corolla Altis will be equipped with features such as start/stop button, smart entry, rain sensor, leather seats, dual-tone interiors, push paddle shifts, LED headlamps, LED clearance lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB, Bluetooth, navigation and reverse camera.
