Maruti Suzuki recorded a 6.4 percent jump in its sales in August 2015 at 117,864 vehicles compared to 110,776 units in the corresponding month of the last year.
In the domestic market, the carmaker sold 106,781 units in August compared to 98,304 units sold in August 2014. Passenger vehicles accounted for 86,454 units compared to 82,823 units in the same month of the last year, up 4.4 percent. Exports, however, in the month were down 11.1 percent at 11,083 units in August, compared to 12,474 units in the year ago period.
The mid-size segment, including SX4, Ciaz saw a whopping growth of 8,212 percent to 4,156 units, as compared to 50 in August last year. The mid-size segment which has been under-performing for a very long time for the carmaker, saw the massive growth mostly on the back of Caiz, which led the growth in sales for the carmaker in last month too.
