renault lodgy india launch in 2015

Renault India has confirmed it will launch the Lodgy MPV in India in 2015. The new Renault Lodgy is built on the new M0 platform, itself a development of the B0 platform used for the Duster SUV.

The Lodgy will compete with the likes of the Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio, and even with larger vehicles like the Mahindra Xylo and Toyota Innova. The Lodgy is built on a monocoque chassis, and is front-wheel drive. Powering the new Renault Lodgy is the tried and trusted 1.5 dCi Renault diesel engine. The Lodgy will likely get both 85 PS and 110 PS versions of this engine, thus enabling Renault India to compete with more variants across a wider price range.

Interior space and versatility will be calling cards for the Lodgy. It is a big and spacious MPV, featuring simple and robust construction. Indeed, in Renaul India’s own words “Lodgy will redefine the segment as a complete ‘Multi-Purpose Vehicle’ and deliver best in segment performance. Renault is taking major steps to increase its presence in India and will be entering the volume and growth segments to strengthen its position.”
