Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd. has unveiled the Precious Edition of its crowd-puller Ray Scooter to spread more buzz amongst customers by offering the product in a fresh new charm.The Ray in a striking new avatar called ‘Black n Beauty’ has witnessed modifications imbibing new graphics and paint touches. The new special edition Ray is all decked up in black with delicate pink patterns to attach additional appeal to every ride. The new Ray Precious Edition will be available at a price of Rs.48, 605/- (Ex-showroom Delhi).


Only lucky few will be able to grab the special edition as it is a limited edition and will be available only till the stocks last. The engine specs remain unchanged with the same 113cc four-stroke single cylinder engine generating a top power of 7.1 PS at 7500rpm and a torque that punches at 5500rpm accounting for about 8.1Nm. The air cooled unit offers enough power that’s appropriate for female drivers returning about 45kmpl in the city and around 55kmpl on the highway.

We are confident that this variant too with its vibrant black and pink design will highly appeal to our target audiences and help us tap on the festive spirits of the market.”


Yamaha Motor India forayed into the scooter segment in India in September 2012 riding on its Yamaha RAY which primarily eyed the young Indian women. The company has executed a slew of activities in order to pull its target customers and propel the desired sales. The company has increased its dealer network and upgraded customer care quality for female customers by recruiting more female staff at customer contact points and introducing female customer care programme. The company has also developed and introduced the Yamaha Female Riding Training Program for female customers who have a concern to ride a scooter or want to grab a riding license. The company eyes at holding the YFRT programme in various cities across India for women who feel the need to be trained on riding a 2-wheeler.
