Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) has announced that complete knock-down (CKD) production of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Fortuner has begun at a production facility of Saryarka AvtoProm LLP (SAP) Kostanay, Kazakhstan.
Continuing its success story during hard times, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has recorded a growth of 22 percent in June 2012. The company delivered 14,700 cars last month as compared to 12,034 units in the same month last year.
Toyota has announced a hike in prices of some of its models, with effect from today, June 1st. Prices of the Etios sedan, Etios Liva hatchback, Innova MUV and Fortuner SUV are set to increase by between 0.5 - 1.0 %.
Toyota will display the face-lifted Fortuner SUV at the upcoming Auto Expo in January 2012. The new Fortuner has been styled to resemble the Land Cruiser range, and gets more angular headlamps and a bold new grille. The big news however, is that the new Toyota Fortuner will now be available with an automatic gearbox.
