Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has launched the Xcent compact sedan with prices starting from Rs 4.66 lakh for the base petrol and Rs 5.56 lakh for the base diesel trim, ex-showroom Delhi.


Speaking at the launch, B S Seo, Managing Director & CEO, HMIL said, “The Xcent is a world-class product developed for the Indian families. Developed with the best of Hyundai Motor’s world-class technologies, Xcent will create a new benchmark in terms of quality, design, space, features and driving pleasure in the compact sedan segment. We have invested extensive effort in competitively pricing Xcent to offer excellent value and to become the most loved and trusted brand in India.”


The Hyundai Xcent will be available with two engine options - the 1.1-litre 2nd generation U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2-litre Kappa Dual VTVT petrol.


The 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and delivers 72PS at 4000rpm of maximum power and 180 Nm at 1750- 2500rpm of peak torque boasting of an ARAI-ratified mileage of 24.4kmpl. This diesel engine is Euro V ready with low emission and NVH levels.


The 1.2 litre Kappa petrol engine comes with Dual VTVT mechanism delivering 83PS at 6000rpm of maximum power and 114 Nm at 4000rpmof peak torque claiming an ARAI-ratified fuel efficiency of 19.1kmpl. The petrol engine offers the choice of 5-speed manual and 4- speed automatic transmission.


Externally, the Hyundai Xcent features swept back headlamps and wrap-around tail lamps with chrome insert, chrome finish hexagonal air dam, front bumper with integrated spoiler design, dual tone rear bumper with reflectors, diamond cut alloy wheels and classy chrome door handles and high mount LED stop lamp.


On the inside, the Hyundai Xcent comes with dual tone beige and black interiors, dashboard integrated with hexagonal outlined audio, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear shift knob with chrome insert, rear AC vents, smart key with push button start, rear parking camera and sensors, auto folding mirrors and steering mounted audio controls and Bluetooth.


The Hyundai Xcent also comes equipped with safety features like antilock braking system (ABS), dual air-bags, rear parking assist and rear defogger.


The new Hyundai Xcent will be available in a range of six new colours.
