Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), India’s premier SUV manufacturer, has unveiled the Scorpio Special Edition. With special trims and finishes, high quality accessories and premium fabric, this Special Edition will attach a touch of luxury and chic to the tough and rugged characteristic of the Scorpio which has maintained a hot among Indian customers.


The new Special Edition of this iconic SUV has been eyeing at style hunters and adventure enthusiasts alike. A true celebration of comfort and luxury, the Scorpio Special Edition maintains its exclusivity with only 500 vehicles to be delivered. Priced at Rs. 11.88 lacs (Ex-showroom Delhi, BS4), it comes in a special Pearl White colour and guarantees to indulge ones senses with its special luxury facilities, premium interiors and upholstery. The exterior is further polished with chrome plated alloy wheels and racy decals, all attaching a quota of style to the mighty muscular Scorpio.


The smart exterior of the car is further augmented by its lavish interiors. The high gloss wood finish centre bezel and the rich tan and beige European leather seat upholstery, enhance the style proportion. It is not just the seats that add to the executive style statement; even the steering wheel, gear shift and gear knob are wrapped in leather to take the look and feel of the interiors to the next level besides applying a touch of class and make the customer feel coddled. Moreover, a roof mounted 9” DVD player has been integrated to take care of the entertainment needs of passengers. A style signature and a symbol of adventure, power and driving thrill, the Scorpio has been a popular choice for adventure seekers and motorsport fans alike. It has made its count in several motorsports, adventure and off-roading events in its 11 year journey.

The Scorpio Special Edition is powered by a fuel saving 2.2 L, 4 cylinder mHawk diesel engine and generating 120 bhp (121.6 PS) power propels it to zip from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. Other safety aspects have been imparted in the Special Edition, which encompass features like ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and Airbags that maintain the cool control of the vehicle while applying brakes on slippery surfaces. Moreover, the EST (Extra Stability Technology) Suspension ensures greater stability and a comfortable ride too. It also boasts of a wide array of unique features including Intellipark with sensors in the rear bumper for easier reverse parking, intelligent rain and light sensors that automatically control wipers and headlights and Tyre–Tronics, an advanced measuring mechanism that updates on exact air pressure and temperature on each tyre.


The Scorpio has plied on the Indian roads a king for 11 years. Already more than 4 lakh vehicles have been delivered to the customers with 50,000 units counting alone for the past two years, propelling transformation involving the SUV space in the country. It has covered extra milestones in some of the world’s toughest rallies including Raid de Himalaya, Desert Storm, Brazilian Rally Dos Sertoes and Dakhsin Dare. The Scorpio further moves in the direction of becoming a key aspect of several Mahindra Adventure events such as Monastery Escape and Vineyard Escape, amongst others. It has become torch bearers in several domestic and international cause-related expeditions like Gondwanaland Expedition, Footsteps of Nikitin Expedition, ASEAN rally, INS Viraat rally and Assam Rifles rally. Conceptualised to set and break records, the Scorpio bypassed most SUVs in the financial year 2011-2012 and took the lead position by turning out to be the Official Intervention Vehicle for all motorsports for a period of five years on the Buddh International Circuit.

Introduced in 2002, the Scorpio is one of the most awarded cars in industry with nearly 40 awards to its kitty, the last addition being a bronze at the 2012 EMVIES.
