new class limited editon c launched

Mercedes-Benz India Ltd today launched the C-Class “Edition C”, a limited run of just 500 examples to commemorate the longevity and success of the C-Class model line. The C-Class can trace its roots back to the Mercedes-Benz 190, launched back in 1992, and the first of the ‘Baby Benz’ family.

The “Edition C” or Celebration Edition as it is also known, has a few extra styling and interior features to distinguish it from regular C-Class models. Chief among these include an AMG body kit, with front and rear aprons, side sills, and gloss black radiator grille. There are also 17-inch two-tone wheels in an AMG design to complete the look.

Inside, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class “Edition C” has diffuse mood lighting, with courtesy lamps in the door and subtle backlighting for the AC vents and door pockets as well. Man-made ARTICO leather upholstery with two colour contrast top stitching adds to the exclusive look, while the steering wheel is trimmed in Nappa leather. The rear seats split and fold in a 1:2 ratio to aid practicality and versatility when carrying luggage.

The “Edition C” will be available with a single engine, which is the 2,143 cc diesel, christened C220 CDI. This engine has 168 PS and 400 Nm of torque, and drives the rear wheels through the 7G-Tronic gearbox. ECO start-stop function is standard with the C-Class. This limited edition C-Class costs INR 39.16 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai.

This limited edition C-Class is the model’s swansong, and will be replaced by the all-new C-Class, which will debut in Geneva next year.
