Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India with the new generation Mercedes-Benz C-Class


Mercedes-Benz has launched the new generation C-Class in India with the new C 200 Avantgarde priced at Rs 40.90 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi and is available for sales in dealerships across the country.


The new generation C-Class is powered by a 2-litre petrol engine that produces 184 PS at 5,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm between 1,200-1,400 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 235 kmph. The motor is mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 14.74 kmpl.


In a statement released to the press, the Mercedes-Benz has claimed that the 2014 C-class comes with many best-in-segment features which includes the most powerful petrol engine, best power to weight ratio, longest wheelbase translating to extremely spacious passenger cabin, fastest in the 0 to 100 kmph sprint and the lightest body shell.
