Rolls-Royce-Wraith-Launch

British luxury car manufacturer Rolls-Royce launched the Wraith priced at Rs 4.60 crore (ex-showroom, Maharashtra). Rolls-Royce currently has outlets in Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad and wants to add two more in Ahmedabad and Chandigarh by the end of 2013.

Sportiness isn’t an attribute that one would normally associate with a car manufactured by a brand like Rolls-Royce. Since the very inception Rolls-Royce have stood for class and luxury and have been generally perceived to be a choice for the rich and mature. But with the launch of the Rolls-Royce Wraith, the company aims at taking the brand towards a completely new direction with the objective of appealing to the younger buyers, who might consider embracing the brand much earlier in life.

The Rolls-Royce Wraith four-seater coupe is powered by a 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 mated to an eight-speed automatic ZF transmission. The powerplant is capable of producing a mind boggling 632.5PS of maximum power and 800Nm of peak torque. The coupe sprints from 0-100 in just 4.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. The Wraith also rides on the same chassis as the Ghost and Rolls-Royce claims that it is the fastest-ever car built by the Brit company.

With the Wraith, Rolls Royce is also introduced an all-new technology, called Satellite Aided Transmission. The GPS system feeds traffic and terrain data to the car’s electronic brain, which then predicts and pre-selects the correct gear, depending on the driving style, ensuring optimum performance.

Herfried Hasenoehrl, General Manager for Emerging Markets-Asia, Rolls Royce said, "India remains one of the most important markets for us in Asia. Wraith is drawing interest from the new customers who have not considered a Rolls-Royce before. We are more than optimistic for India."
