Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, Tata Motors Ltd., and Mr. Ankush Arora, Senior Vice President, Passenger Vehicles Business Unit (Commercial) Tata Motors Ltd.,  at the unveiling ceremony of the all new Nano Twist in Mumbai.

Tata Motors has launched the Nano Twist priced at Rs 2.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-end XT variant, Rs 13,000 more than the current LX trim.

The Tata Nano Twist will come equipped with an electric power steering that has been developed by ZF in collaboration with Bosch. This will make it much more convenient to drive India's most inexpensive car.

The new EPS unit uses a brushless motor and has an active return' feature that returns the wheel to the centre after being turned either way, that Tata Motors claims is unique in this segment.

The new Tata Nano Twist also features an all-new instrument cluster with LED fuel and temperature gauges, and readouts for active fuel consumption and distance to empty. The Tata Nano Twist will also be offered in an all-new Damson Purple colour scheme.

Unveiling the Nano Twist, Ranjit Yadav, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, said, "Since its inception, the Nano has been a path-breaking invention and has been constantly developed to provide class-leading value, with our core philosophy of anticipating customers’ needs. Blending best-in-class technology and design engineering, we at Tata Motors have worked closely with our partners to take ‘Awesomeness’ to a whole new level with the Nano Twist. The Nano Twist will redefine customer’s driving experience in city traffic with the EPAS. It comes loaded with trendy features, exciting new colour and sporty interiors, which makes it a cool, smart city car to hang-out with. We at Tata Motors will continuously innovate on the Nano platform, catering to the dynamic desires of our growing customer base of young, trendy urbanites."

Tata is keen to persevere with the Nano, and the addition of a top-end version with power steering and audio system is a step in the right direction. The car has not managed to set sales charts afire like Tata Motors had hoped for, but customers are likely to still see value in what truly is one of the most innovative cars in the world.
