triumph bonneville t100 launched in india

Triumph India is here at last. After teasing bikers in the country for the better part of two years, the British bike maker has officially launched its range of motorcycles in the country. Triumph will bring a comprehensive range of 10 different bikes across various segments into India.

The ten bikes that Triumph plans to introduce are models from its diverse portfolios, including naked streetbikes, retro-styled machines, cruisers and dual-purpose motorcycles. These include:

Triumph Bonneville – INR 5.7 lakh

Triumph Bonneville 100 – INR 6.6 lakh

Triumph Thruxton – INR 6.7 lakh

Triumph Street Triple – INR 7.5 lakh

Triumph Speed Triple – INR 10.4 lakh

Triumph Daytona 675 R – INR 11.4 lakh

Triumph Tiger 800 XC – INR 12 lakh

Triumph Tiger Explorer – INR 17.9 lakh

Triumph Thunderbird Storm – INR 13 lakh

Triumph Rocket III – INR 20 lakh.

All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

To begin with, Triumph will assemble 6 of these ten models at a factory in Manesar, Haryana, while readying its new factory in Karnataka. Four models, including the Rocket III, Tiger 800 XC, Tiger Explorer and Daytona 675 R will be fully imported. Two showrooms, one each in Bangalore and Hyderabad will be ready in December, with two more coming up in Mumbai and Delhi in January 2014. Subsequently, Triumph will open 5 more showrooms in Kochi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune and Chennai.

Triumph also announced its plans to build a smaller, 250cc sportsbike, with styling inspired by the Daytona 675, at its Karnataka facility. This will not be a CKD operation however, but a full-fledged manufacturing operation. This ‘baby’ Triumph will compete with the likes of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the upcoming Honda CBR 300.

In keeping with market demand, Triumph will also retail its range of riding equipment in the country as well, including jackets, gloves, helmets, riding jeans, t-shirts and other lifestyle accessories.
