Antonio-Felix-Da-Costa

BMW DTM driver Antonio Felix da Costa won the fourth round of the FIA Formula E Championship in Buenos Aires and celebrated his first win in the racing series for fully-electric single-seater cars.

Starting from eighth on the grid in front of a sell-out crowd of 20,000 at the street circuit in the Argentinean capital, Felix da Costa cut through the field magnificently to win after 35 laps. The Portuguese driver came home 5.354 seconds clear of Nicolas Prost who finished second.

“I noticed in qualifying that we had the pace to be in contention,” said Felix da Costa. “I am very happy that we were fast enough to get the win.” The BMW i8 Safety Car was once again in action in a turbulent race, which featured a number of crashes.

India's Karun Chandhok was forced to retire from the race after a suspension failure caused him to crash on the streets of Buenos Aires. However the team came away with a good haul of points when his Mahindra Racing team-mate Bruno Senna fought back to finish in 5th position after making up 14 positions over the course of the race.

The next round of the FIA Formula E Championship takes place on the streets of Miami (US) on March 14.
