Eyeing the compact SUV space in the country, Japanese automaker Honda will launch the BR-V compact SUV on May 5, 2016. Honda had unveiled the B-RV at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo in February.  The Honda B-RV is built on the same platform as the Honda Brio, Amaze and Mobilio.

 

Honda B-RV willbe powered by the same 1.5-litre i-DTEC and 1.5-litre i-VTEC engines that does duty on the Honda City.

 

At the front, Honda BR-V bears a chrome designed grille with the company's emblem at the center. On either side of this, there are sleek headlamp clusters that are further improved with chrome inserts. Sources have confirmed the presence of projector beams on the front lamps, giving improved visibility during the drive. At the tape, the Honda BR-V is 4,455 mm in length, 1,735 mm in width, 1,650 mm in height and 2,660 mm in wheelbase with a ground clearance of 200 mm.  Further, the  Honda BR-V will get 16 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, which will be further covered with tubeless radial tyres that ensures firm grip on roads.

Honda BR-V will consists of disc brakes at front, and drums brakes in the rear. For the suspension arrangement, there is a standard McPherson strut for the front axle, while the rear one is armed with a torsion beam system. In addition to this, it may also get anti lock braking system, which adds to the overall control quality.

 

The safety arrangements that the Honda BR-V comes with, are not specifically laid out. However, it might come with dual airbags for front passengers, which keeps them shielded in case of a mishap. As mentioned before, the anti-lock braking system might also be present. It will probably get vehicle stability management system, which further adds to the control. A hill start assist is also confirmed to be present, and this improves safety on sloping terrains. A powerful set of headlamps might be offered with LED systems for added safety. Seatbelts are also expected for all of the passengers, keeping them secure through the drive. There would also be a dual horn, keeping nearby drivers alert of this vehicle.
