Come Auto Expo 2016, Tata Motors s looking ahead to unveil its new SUV- Hexa. Based on the Aria platform, Hexa was first showcased as a concept during the Geneva Motor Show. Designed by Tata Motors Design teams in Italy, UK and Pune, Hexa will be the first SUV from Tata’s stable to be built with inputs from the Land Rover.

Engine & Transmission:

Tata Hexa will feature a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, Varicor diesel unit that churns out for 156 PS with 400Nm torque.  The power-plant comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission (may be an auto for a top model) and will be available with a 4WD option.

Tata Hexa is 4764mm long, 1895mm wide, 1780mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2850mm. On the first glance, Hexa appears to have resembles to Aria majorly in terms of its overall shape. However, the fascia boasts newly designed projector headlamps, fog lamps, a honeycomb grille and new bumper. The horizontal chrome slat under the grille extends towards the headlamps and the honeycomb pattern can also be seen on the front chin.

From the side profile of the vehicle dons a newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels, body coloured door handles, blackened B, C and D-pillars wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators and wipers similar to the Aria. From behind, the vehicle gets a dual-tone bumper with dual-exhaust tips and a new shape for the reflectors. The tail lamps are restyled and come with LED units. A new spoiler can also be be located.

Overall, the Hexa looks much more muscular and sporty than any of the previous SUVs from the maker.

The Hexa compact SUV offers a spacious cabin for six-adults in 2+2+2 arrangement with captain seats covered in good quality leather, and integrated arm rests. The vehicle will also be equipped with an instrument panel with a color Multi-information display and two circular dials and a touchscreen infotainment system with park assist and navigation. What add more to its appeal are seats with contrasting twin-needle stitching, dual tone (White & Black) interior finish, LED illumination for ambient mood lighting, leather upholstery and leather wrapped steering wheel.

In terms of safety features, the Tata Hexa comes loaded with  six airbags, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), EBD (Electronic BrakeForce Distribution), Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Engine Immobilizer and Rear Parking Sensors with Camera.
